Paul Nardi: QPR Fans and English Football Are Special

Since joining Queens Park Rangers in January, goalkeeper Paul Nardi has found a new home in England. The French player has quickly become a key figure for the team and has been deeply impressed by the passion of the fans and the intensity of the Championship league.

In an interview, Nardi shared his thoughts on his experience so far, highlighting what makes playing for QPR and living in London so enjoyable for him, both on and off the pitch.

🏟️ The Unique Atmosphere at Loftus Road

Paul Nardi feels a special connection with the QPR supporters, describing the atmosphere at Loftus Road as something he has never experienced before in his career, which includes stints at clubs like AS Monaco and Lorient. He was particularly moved by the fans’ loyalty. “I remember last season when we were in trouble, when we’d lose and lose, and the fans continued to support us,” he explained. “I think we as players are very lucky to play for Queen’s Park Rangers and to have fans like this.”

⚽ Embracing England’s Toughest League

Nardi is enjoying the challenge of playing in England, which he believes is a special place for football. He considers the Championship to be one of the most demanding competitions in the world due to the high number of strong teams. “There’s some good grounds with top atmospheres,” he said. “There’s some good teams amongst the 24 in the Championship. I would say it’s definitely the toughest league in the world.”

🎯 A Humble Approach to Success

Despite some ups and downs, Nardi believes in staying grounded. He explained that both he and the team prefer to remain humble and focus on steady improvement. For him, personal statistics are not important. “My one goal is to win points for my team, to help my team when they need me,” he stated. This mindset extends to the team’s ambitions for the season. Instead of dreaming about promotion playoffs, Nardi says the focus is simple: “We just dream about winning the next game… let’s just keep our feet on the ground.”
