Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has shared some positive news, expressing confidence that midfielder Gavi will be back on the field soon. Gavi, who injured his right knee during training, is expected to make his return after the upcoming international break.
🙏 Gavi’s Recovery Progress
Gavi is recovering well from the knee injury he picked up in training last Friday. According to Flick, the plan is for the 21-year-old to be ready for the match against Valencia on September 14th. “He’s better today than he was yesterday. We are positive,” Flick said. This comes after Gavi successfully returned from a major ACL injury that kept him out for 11 months last season. Due to the current injury, the Spanish Football Federation has confirmed he will not join the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
❤️ Fermin Lopez to Stay at Barcelona
Flick also put an end to rumors about Fermin Lopez leaving the club. He praised the 22-year-old midfielder, who came through the Barcelona academy, for his skills in scoring goals and creating opportunities. “Fermin is a great player… Most importantly, he wants to be here and his heart is with Barca,” Flick stated, adding, “I have spoken with him and I think he will stay.”
⚽️ Looking Ahead to Tough Challenges
Barcelona is preparing for its next LaLiga match against Rayo Vallecano, which Flick expects to be a “tough match” with high intensity. Beyond domestic games, the team also faces a challenging schedule in the Champions League. They are set to play against big teams like Paris St Germain, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. Flick acknowledged the tough draw but affirmed the club’s ambition, stating, “For a team like Barca, the goal is to win the Champions League.”
