In a recent interview, he revealed that another major Spanish club, Atlético Madrid, had also shown interest in signing him over the summer, but his heart was set on returning to Betis.

Antony explained that while there were conversations with several clubs, including Atlético Madrid, they never turned into formal offers. “Good offers came in, many of them just conversations and not real offers,” he said. “The official offer I had from Betis is the one I signed and what I wanted. The rest didn’t go beyond conversations.”
