Nick Woltemade is already making a positive impact at Newcastle United, scoring a goal in his debut match against Wolves. His transfer from VfB Stuttgart is a major investment for the club, with a final fee that could become much larger depending on his and the team’s success.
💰 Paying More to Secure the Deal
While Nick Woltemade had a €75 million buyout clause in his contract with Stuttgart, Newcastle United chose to pay a higher amount of €85 million. This strategic move was made to ensure they signed the talented German striker, successfully outbidding other top clubs like Bayern Munich who were also interested in him.
🏆 Bonuses Tied to Team Success
The initial €85 million fee is just the beginning. The total cost could rise above €90 million based on several performance-related bonuses. Stuttgart will receive an additional €2 million if Newcastle wins the Premier League, and another €2 million for a Champions League title. These clauses show the high expectations placed on the team’s future performance.
⚽ Rewards for Personal Milestones
The agreement also includes bonuses linked to Woltemade’s individual achievements. If Newcastle reaches the Champions League semi-finals and he plays in at least 60% of the match minutes, Stuttgart will get an extra €1 million. Furthermore, if Woltemade becomes the top scorer in the Premier League, an additional €500,000 will be paid to his former club.
