🇮🇹 Chiesa Eyes Return to Italy Amid Liverpool Challenges

Federico Chiesa, the talented forward for Liverpool, is reportedly considering a return to Italy, with discussions already underway with Serie A club Napoli. This potential move comes as Chiesa has found his playing time at Liverpool limited under new manager Arne Slot, despite a promising start to the current season. Fans, who see Chiesa as a popular figure, might find this a surprising development.

⏱️ Limited Minutes Under New Management

Since arriving from Juventus for £12.5 million, Chiesa has shown glimpses of his ability this season, contributing two goals and three assists. However, he has yet to start a Premier League match under Arne Slot. While his total minutes this season (344 across all competitions) are a significant improvement from the 104 minutes he played in six Premier League games last season, it appears to still not be enough for the 28-year-old or for the Italy national team coach.

🗣️ Italy Coach’s Advice for Chiesa

Italy national team boss Gennaro Gattuso has openly encouraged Chiesa to make a move back to Serie A, believing it would be beneficial for the player’s career, which he describes as being at a “crossroads.” Chiesa has not featured for Italy since their exit from the European Championships at the Round of 16 stage due to past injuries at Juventus and his slow integration at Liverpool. Gattuso stated, “I often talk to him… We know well what we tell each other, and I must respect what the player tells me.”

🤝 Napoli Leading the Race

Journalist Emanuele Cammaroto has confirmed that “discussions are underway” with Napoli regarding Chiesa’s potential transfer. While Napoli seems to be the frontrunner, other Italian giants like Roma and AC Milan have also shown interest in the winger. Chiesa’s desire to secure a regular starting spot and revitalize his international career seems to be a key factor in his decision to potentially leave Anfield.
