The 2025-26 NBA season is here, and it’s bringing some exciting changes to how you can watch the games. With new broadcast partners—Disney (ABC/ESPN), NBCUniversal (NBC/Peacock), and Amazon (Prime Video)—there are more ways than ever to follow your favorite teams from opening night all the way to the NBA Finals. Here’s a simple guide to help you keep up with all the action.
📺 NBC & Peacock: A Familiar Tune Returns
Get ready for a dose of nostalgia! The NBA is back on NBC, and yes, that means the iconic “Roundball Rock” theme song is returning. Their coverage kicks off on opening night, October 21, with a doubleheader featuring the Thunder hosting the Rockets, followed by the Warriors visiting the Lakers. Throughout the season, you can stream games nationwide on Peacock on Monday nights. Tuesdays will feature doubleheaders on NBC and Peacock, and special Sunday Night Basketball games will air on both platforms starting in February.
🎙️ ABC & ESPN: The Classics Continue with a Twist
Your go-to channels, ABC and ESPN, are back with their popular game nights. Expect exciting doubleheaders on Wednesdays and, starting mid-season, on Fridays. Weekend basketball is also covered with NBA Saturday Primetime and the NBA Sunday Showcase on ABC, featuring some of the biggest matchups of the week. The biggest news this year is that the legendary “Inside the NBA” studio crew—Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith—will bring their famous show to ESPN and ABC for key games and events throughout the season.
💻 Prime Video: A New Player in the Game
Amazon’s Prime Video is the newest home for NBA action, streaming 66 regular-season games. They will broadcast doubleheader games on many Fridays, beginning on October 24 with the Celtics at the Knicks, followed by the Timberwolves visiting the Lakers. Prime Video will also be the main place to watch the Emirates NBA Cup, including the exciting knockout rounds and the final championship game. In addition, it will be the only place to watch all the high-stakes games of the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament.
