Many of the top 10 draft picks made their first appearances and did not disappoint. In the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Washington Wizards, two top prospects faced off. The Suns’ Khaman Maluach, known for his defense, finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks, helping his team to a 103-84 victory. For the Wizards, skilled scorer Tre Johnson put up 18 points. Elsewhere, Charlotte Hornets rookie Liam McNeeley had a fantastic all-around game, recording 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists to lead his team past the Utah Jazz in a 111-105 win.

It wasn’t just the rookies who stood out; several second-year players also had strong performances. The Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks 104-86, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Ron Holland II led the way for Detroit with a great performance of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals. In another close game, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Houston Rockets 95-92. The Clippers were powered by sophomores Jordan Miller, who scored 23 points, and Cam Christie, who added 21 points, showing their development and readiness for the upcoming season.

Other games also provided plenty of excitement. Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Hansen Yang impressed with his versatile skills, contributing 10 points, 5 assists, and 3 blocks in a big 106-73 win over the Golden State Warriors. The Boston Celtics also secured a comfortable 92-78 win against the Memphis Grizzlies, thanks to a balanced team effort. In a thrilling comeback, the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Miami Heat 105-98. The Hawks were down but rallied in the fourth quarter, with Kobe Bufkin scoring 17 of his 26 points in the final period to secure the win.
