Suns and Nets to Play in NBA China Games 2025

Basketball fans have a reason to be excited as the NBA brings preseason action back to China for the first time since 2019. The Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets will face off in two games in Macao on October 10 and 12, marking a highly anticipated return of live NBA events in the region.

The 2025 NBA China Games are more than just a pair of exhibition matches; they represent the league’s ongoing effort to connect with its global fanbase. This event is the 15th edition of the China Games, which started in 2004. Alongside the games, fans can look forward to a week full of activities designed to bring them closer to the sport and its stars.

🏀 What to Expect in Macao

The main events are the two preseason games between the Suns and the Nets, scheduled for Friday, October 10, and Sunday, October 12, at The Venetian Arena in Macao. In addition to the on-court action, there will be an NBA Fan Day on October 11, featuring celebrity appearances and skills competitions with the players. From October 8-12, fans can also visit NBA House, a free festival offering an immersive cultural experience with opportunities to meet NBA legends. A new NBA Flagship Store will also open, offering a wide range of merchandise.

☀️ A New-Look Suns Team

The Phoenix Suns will arrive in Macao with a fresh lineup. Led by franchise star Devin Booker, the team has seen significant changes during the offseason, including a new coach and several new players. Key departures like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have made way for new talent, including Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and rookie Khaman Maluach. Head coach Jordan Ott views the trip as a “great team-building event” for the new group, providing a unique experience for them to bond before the season starts.

🏙️ Brooklyn’s Young and Eager Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will bring one of the league’s youngest rosters to the event. The team is focused on building a strong foundation for the future. A key offseason move was trading for Michael Porter Jr., whose championship experience with the Nuggets in 2023 will be valuable for this young squad. One interesting storyline is the return of Nic Claxton, who is the only player on the current roster who also played in the 2019 China Games as a rookie. Now an established player, his performance will be one to watch.
