The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas continued with more exciting games on its eleventh day. The action was highlighted by some incredible individual scoring, as Bulls guard Jahmir Young put on a show with 40 points, while the Cavaliers’ Tyrese Proctor impressed with 35 points of his own. Here’s a look at the players who made a big impression.
🌟 Young’s Record-Breaking Performance
Jahmir Young, a guard for the Bulls, had the best scoring game of the Las Vegas Summer League so far. He scored an amazing 40 points to lead Chicago to a 102-96 victory over the Bucks. This is the highest score ever by a Bulls player in Summer League history. Young was very efficient, making 13 of his 18 shots, including 7 out of 8 three-pointers. He also added three assists and two steals. Young, who was not selected in the 2024 draft, spent most of last season in the G League and showed he has great potential.
💪 Second-Round Picks Making a Statement
Two players selected in the second round of the draft also had standout games. For the 76ers, Johni Broome recorded his second straight double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 90-82 win against the Mavericks. He was particularly effective in the second half, showing why the 76ers may have found a hidden talent. Meanwhile, Tyrese Proctor of the Cavaliers scored 35 points against the Kings. The Australian guard was confident and aggressive, making all nine of his free throws. Although the Cavs lost, Proctor’s performance certainly got people’s attention.
✨ Other Guards Showcasing Their Skills
Several other guards also played very well. Rob Dillingham of the Timberwolves continued his strong Summer League with 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in a win over the Suns. He showed great control of the game with only two turnovers. For the Pelicans, Jeremiah Fears, the 7th pick in the draft, had his best game yet with 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists. His teammate, Trey Alexander, who is on a two-way contract, scored 25 points off the bench.
