The Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off the 2025-26 NBA season in style, celebrating their championship victory with a special ring ceremony. Before their opening game against the Houston Rockets, players and staff received their much-awaited championship rings in front of their home fans, marking a memorable end to their historic run last season.
It was a special moment for the team, which saw players, coaching staff, and management share the achievement together. The on-court ceremony created an exciting atmosphere, officially closing the chapter on their title-winning season and firing up the team for the new challenges ahead.
🏆 A Night to Remember
The ceremony was a grand affair attended by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. One by one, players like reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, along with coach Mark Daigneault and team executives Sam Presti and Clay Bennett, were called onto the court. After warm greetings and hugs, Bennett presented each person with their championship ring. Many players immediately put on the rings, with Gilgeous-Alexander proudly wearing his on his right index finger.
💍 A Closer Look at the Ring
These aren’t just any rings; they are incredibly detailed works of art. Each ring is decorated with over 800 sparkling gemstones, carefully cut and placed by hand. The top features 100 diamonds set in 14-karat gold, surrounding the famous Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy and the words “NBA CHAMPIONS.” The design reflects the hard work and dedication that led the team to victory.
✨ A Special Hidden Feature
What makes these rings truly unique is a clever “ring-within-a-ring” design. The top of the main ring can be opened to reveal a smaller, personalized inner ring. This inner band is engraved with the player’s signature and features their jersey number formed with diamonds. It also includes the jersey numbers of every teammate, symbolizing their shared journey. This special inner ring can even be worn on its own, offering a more subtle way to celebrate the championship.
