The EuroBasket 2025 quarterfinals delivered plenty of excitement as Turkey and Greece secured their spots in the semifinals. Both teams were powered by their NBA stars, with Alperen Sengun and Giannis Antetokounmpo putting on incredible performances to lead their nations to victory over Poland and Lithuania, respectively.
The key takeaway from these matches was the impact of top-tier talent. Sengun’s all-around game proved too much for Poland to handle, while Antetokounmpo’s clutch play in the final moments sealed the deal for Greece against a tough Lithuanian team. With these wins, Turkey and Greece are set to face each other in a highly anticipated semifinal matchup.
✨ Sengun’s All-Around Masterclass
Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets had a sensational game for Turkey, recording a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. He wowed the crowd with several highlight plays, including a full-court pass for an easy dunk and a creative no-look assist in the paint. His performance not only kept Turkey’s unbeaten streak alive but also strengthened his case for being the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
💪 Antetokounmpo Brothers Power Greece
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece with 29 points, stepping up when it mattered most. He sank crucial free throws in the final minute to stop a comeback attempt from Lithuania, which had cut a 16-point gap down to eight. His younger brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo, also played a key defensive role with four impressive blocks in the first half. For Lithuania, Jonas Valanciunas fought hard with 24 points and 15 rebounds.
