NBA Fantasy Week 2: Luka Dončić Shines on Return

The second week of the NBA season was packed with action, highlighted by the spectacular return of a top player who immediately reclaimed his spot at the number one position. While familiar superstars continued to deliver strong results, a couple of new faces also broke into the top rankings, including a point guard who is quickly becoming the main star on his team. Here’s a look at the week’s top fantasy basketball performers.

👑 Luka’s Triumphant Return

Luka Dončić of the Lakers made a quicker-than-expected return from a finger injury and showed he hadn’t missed a beat. Wasting no time, he played 39 minutes in his first game back against the Grizzlies, scoring an incredible 44 points with 12 rebounds. He followed that up with his first triple-double of the season (29 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) against the Heat. Now fully healthy, Dončić looks set to remain a top player, even when his teammate LeBron James returns.

💪 Jokić and Giannis Remain Dominant

Two of the league’s most consistent stars, Nikola Jokić and Giannis Antetokounmpo, continued to put up huge numbers. Jokić of the Nuggets was incredibly efficient, shooting an amazing 74.3% from the field. Although his streak of triple-doubles ended, he has been an excellent playmaker, averaging a career-high 10.8 assists per game. Meanwhile, the Bucks’ Antetokounmpo maintained his spot in the top three with his all-around excellence, averaging 31.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in the games he played.

🌟 Rising Stars Make Their Mark

This week also saw two other players join the elite fantasy ranks. Tyrese Maxey has clearly become the key player for the 76ers, playing an average of 42.5 minutes per game and showing no signs of slowing down. He had a fantastic week, averaging 33.5 points and 9.8 assists. Lauri Markkanen of the Jazz also had a memorable week, highlighted by a massive 51-point, 14-rebound performance against the Suns. He has started the season strong, becoming his team’s main scoring option.

👀 What’s Next?

Looking ahead to the next week, some players have a great opportunity to score big fantasy points. Both Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo are scheduled to play multiple games against teams that are not in the top-10 for defense, so expect them to continue putting up impressive stats.
