The Lakers may have lost their season opener 119-109 to the Warriors, but they have a valuable guide helping them from the sidelines: LeBron James. Although he couldn’t play due to an injury, he’s making his presence felt in a big way by helping the team learn and improve.
👨🏫 A Coach on the Sidelines
Coach JJ Redick shared that LeBron was “really helpful” during a recent team meeting where they reviewed their game film. He actively asked questions and shared his thoughts, creating a positive and open discussion. Redick praised this interaction, saying it’s healthy for the team when experienced players like James speak up and contribute their knowledge.
🤕 Road to Recovery
LeBron is currently recovering from sciatica, a nerve issue that kept him out of training camp and the preseason. While there is no exact date for his return, the team hopes to have him back on the court sometime in November. During the game against the Warriors, he watched from a special high chair on the bench, carefully observing the team’s performance.
🏀 Looking Ahead
The Lakers have key areas to improve after making 20 mistakes (turnovers) and allowing the Warriors too many easy three-point shots in their first game. With LeBron’s off-court guidance, they hope to fix these issues before their next match. They will soon face Minnesota, the same team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season, in what promises to be an important early-season test.
