The NBA has announced an exciting college basketball game for its 2026 All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. The Hampton University Pirates will face off against their rivals, the North Carolina A&T Aggies, in the fifth annual NBA HBCU Classic. This special event is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, and will be held at the famous Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
🤝 Supporting Education and Tradition
This game is more than just a competition; it’s a key part of the NBA’s ongoing effort to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These are important institutions in the United States with a rich legacy in education and culture for the Black community. To help the schools, the NBA and its partner AT&T will donate $100,000 to each university. This continues the league’s commitment, which has already provided over $5.5 million to HBCU programs and students since 2021.
🎓 A Historic Rivalry on a Big Stage
Leaders from both universities expressed their excitement for the opportunity. They noted the historic rivalry between Hampton University and North Carolina A&T and celebrated the chance to showcase their talented student-athletes and proud traditions on a national stage. Being part of the NBA All-Star weekend provides a major platform for these schools to share their culture with a global audience. More details on tickets and how to watch the game will be released later.
