FIBA Launches 2025 'Dream Team' Photo Contest

The FIBA Foundation has officially launched the 9th edition of its popular annual Photo Contest. This year’s theme, “Dream Team,” invites photographers from all over the world to capture the powerful moments of unity and friendship that define basketball. Submissions are now open until November 21, 2025.

📸 What is the ‘Dream Team’ Theme?

The “Dream Team” theme focuses on the special connections between players. It’s about capturing moments like high-fives after a great play, encouraging words in a huddle, or the simple act of helping a teammate up. The contest aims to celebrate the spirit that turns a group of individuals into a true team—a family united by their love for the game, whether they play on a local court or in a big arena.

✍️ Who Can Join and How?

This contest is open to everyone, from professional photographers to passionate amateurs who enjoy taking pictures of the game. The goal is to showcase talent and a love for basketball from all corners of the globe. If you have a camera and a passion for capturing the heart of basketball, you are encouraged to participate.

🌍 A Growing Global Tradition

Since it began in 2017, the FIBA Photo Contest has grown into one of the world’s largest photography competitions dedicated to basketball. Organised by the FIBA Foundation, the event highlights the sport’s cultural impact and its ability to bring communities together. Each year, thousands of photographers share their unique perspectives on the game.

🏆 Prizes and Judging

The top three winners will receive valuable photography equipment and have their work featured across FIBA’s channels. The grand prize winner will also get a special opportunity to be the official photographer for an event at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Switzerland. The winning photos will be selected by a panel of nine respected photographers and basketball personalities. The results will be announced on World Basketball Day, December 21, and the top 100 photos will be published in the annual FIBA Photo Book.
