Former players Ronny Turiaf from France and Pero Antic from North Macedonia are excited to take on their ambassadorial roles. Antic shared his personal connection, having just missed playing in the 2013 Intercontinental Cup with his former Olympiacos teammates. He looks forward to seeing diverse basketball cultures clash on the court and hopes for an inspiring “Cinderella story” among the participating teams. Turiaf emphasized the global growth of basketball, stating, “It’s a global game, and I’m excited to see in person the teams from Africa, Australia, or Asia, because it’s impossible to deny the progress they’ve been making over recent years.” Both legends underscore the tournament’s role in showcasing basketball’s worldwide appeal and increasing talent.

The tournament features six champion teams, divided into two competitive groups. Group A includes Alahli SC, winners of the Basketball Africa League; Unicaja, champions of the Basketball Champions League Europe; and Utsunomiya Brex, who won the Basketball Champions League Asia. In Group B, fans will see Flamengo, winners of the Basketball Champions League Americas; the Illawarra Hawks, champions of the Australian NBL; and NBA G League United, a select team from the NBA G League. This impressive lineup ensures a high level of competition and a fantastic showcase of basketball talent from across the globe.
