Olympiacos Guard Keenan Evans Sidelined by Injury

Olympiacos guard Keenan Evans faces another spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury, delaying his much-anticipated return.
Olympiacos Guard Keenan Evans Sidelined by Injury

Olympiacos has confirmed that guard Keenan Evans will be out of action for 15 to 20 days. The 29-year-old is dealing with damage to the cartilage and bone in his right kneecap, which is another unfortunate setback in his career.

This latest injury adds to a difficult period for Evans, who has faced significant health challenges over the past few seasons. His absence poses a challenge for Olympiacos as the team begins its new season, as they will miss his skills on the court during some important early games.

🤕 A History of Unfortunate Injuries

This is not the first serious injury for Evans. He previously suffered a patellar tendon rupture late in the 2023-24 season while with Zalgiris, which delayed his debut for his new team, Olympiacos. Before that, his 2022-23 season was cut short by a torn Achilles tendon. This series of injuries has been a tough test of his resilience.

🗓️ Key Games He Will Miss

Due to this recovery period, Evans will not be able to play in Greece’s Stoiximan Super Cup, scheduled for September 26 and 27. He is also likely to miss the EuroLeague regular-season opener on September 30, when Olympiacos plays an away game against Baskonia. His availability for later matches in both the European and domestic leagues remains uncertain for now.

💪 Team Navigates Player Absences

Evans is not the only player on the team’s injury list. His teammate Moustapha Fall is also recovering from a major knee injury and is expected to be out for most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season. On a positive note, the rest of the squad is ready to play. This includes key players like Kostas Papanikolaou, Tyler Dorsey, Giannoulis Larentzakis, and Kostas Antetokounmpo, who recently helped the Greek national team win a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2025.
