Crvena Zvezda is starting their 2025-26 EuroLeague season on a difficult note, with several key players sidelined due to injuries just before their opening game against Olimpia Milano.
This string of injuries presents a major challenge for the team, testing their depth and resilience right from the beginning of the highly competitive tournament.
🤕 A Serious Blow with Canaan’s Injury
The biggest concern is for guard Isaiah Canaan, who has a serious ACL knee injury. Coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos mentioned that Canaan will likely travel to the United States for surgery, which could mean he will be out for a long time. This is a significant setback for the Belgrade-based team as they lose a key player early in the season.
📋 The Injury List Grows
Unfortunately, the team’s problems don’t stop there. Coach Sfairopoulos confirmed three other players will also miss the first game. Devonte’ Graham is dealing with a bone bruise, Uroš Plavšić twisted his ankle in a recent practice, and Ognjen Dobrić is still bothered by a back problem that he had during the summer.
🤔 Facing the Challenge
With four players unavailable, Crvena Zvezda will have a tough task ahead in their season opener. The team will need other players to step up as they face a strong Olimpia Milano team at their home court in Belgrade Arena. This early test will show how well the team can adapt to unexpected difficulties.
