The Euroleague’s One Team program has once again celebrated the basketball clubs that go above and beyond to make a difference in their communities. At the recent One Team Annual Workshop, awards were given to the best social projects of the 2024-25 season, highlighting how the sport can be a powerful force for good.

This year’s winners stood out for their creativity and deep commitment to helping others. French club ASVEL earned the top prize for its inclusive program, while Cedevita Olimpija and Venice were also recognized for their impactful work with young people. On the player side, Panathinaikos’s Juancho Hernangómez was named the Best One Team Ambassador for the second year in a row, thanks to his incredible dedication. The awards show that what happens off the court is just as important as the game itself.

🥇 ASVEL Takes Gold for Inclusive Program

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne from France received the Gold Award for its outstanding project focused on children, teenagers, and adults with intellectual disabilities. The program was praised for its consistent and creative approach, providing over a hundred sessions guided by a team of doctors and psychologists. Beyond basketball, participants enjoyed activities like climbing and rugby, all designed to build confidence, foster inclusion, and develop essential life skills.

🥈🥉 Cedevita and Venice Praised for Youth Initiatives

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana earned the Silver Award for its innovative program that helped young people prepare for the future. A key feature was an internship initiative where participants learned real-world skills such as merchandising, email communication, and event operations. The club also added personal touches like amusement park visits and special gifts to make everyone feel valued. Umana Reyer Venice secured the Bronze Award for its long-standing work with local youth, combining basketball with internships, anti-violence walks, and other community-focused activities to give participants a sense of belonging and support.

🏆 Juancho Hernangómez Named Best Ambassador Again

For the second consecutive year, Juancho Hernangómez was honored as the Best One Team Ambassador. His enthusiasm and genuine commitment set a high standard. He was praised for attending every session, actively participating in drills, and taking the time to mentor participants. Juancho consistently used his platform to raise awareness for the program and showed great personal care, making him a true role model for the One Team mission. His dedication has been a cornerstone of the program’s success.
