EuroLeague champions Fenerbahce have made a key move for the new season, signing American center Armando Bacot to a one-year contract. This signing adds significant size and skill to their frontcourt as they prepare to defend their title.
Bacot’s arrival provides Fenerbahce with a strong player who can score and rebound effectively. His experience in the competitive US college system and the NBA G League suggests he is ready to make an impact in Europe, offering the team a fresh and valuable option in their lineup.
💪 A New Face in the Frontcourt
Fenerbahce has officially welcomed 25-year-old Armando Bacot to the team. Last season, he played for the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League, where he had an impressive run, averaging 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. After going undrafted in 2024, Bacot is now set to begin his professional career in Europe with one of the continent’s top clubs.
🏀 A Versatile and Skilled Player
Bacot is known for his versatility. While primarily a center, he is also capable of playing the power forward position. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc, with a 35.5% success rate in three-pointers, adds another layer to Fenerbahce’s offense. Before turning professional, he had a distinguished career at the University of North Carolina, a top US college basketball program, from 2019 to 2024.
🩹 Roster News and Injury Setback
The signing of Bacot comes at a crucial time for Fenerbahce. The team recently announced that another one of their big men, Jilson Bango, suffered a serious torn ACL in his left knee while playing for his national team, Angola. With Bango facing a long recovery, Bacot’s presence will be even more important to maintain strength in the frontcourt. The club is also reportedly waiting for a decision from another potential target, Talen Horton-Tucker.
