
Greek basketball club Aris has welcomed back a familiar player, announcing that Canadian-Greek guard Elijah Mitrou-Long will rejoin the team. The 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract that will keep him in Thessaloniki until 2027, marking a happy reunion for both the player and the club.

This is not the first time Elijah Mitrou-Long will play for Aris. He was part of the team during the 2022-23 season, where he made a solid impact. In those games, he averaged 10.05 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in about 24 minutes per game, proving himself to be a valuable and reliable player. His return is expected to bring stability and experience to the team’s backcourt.

Since starting his professional journey in 2020, Mitrou-Long has gained a wide range of experience playing for various clubs across Europe. His career began with Greek team PAOK, and he later played for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria and Apollon Patras in Greece. This diverse background has helped him adapt to different playing styles and leagues, making him a versatile addition to any roster.

Mitrou-Long has shown he can score and create plays wherever he goes. After his first stint with Aris, he played for Peristeri, averaging 10.1 points per game. Most recently, he played for both Hapoel Holon in Israel and Varese in Italy. With Hapoel Holon, he put up impressive numbers with 12.7 points and 4 assists, and he continued his strong performance at Varese with 12.1 points and 4.3 assists per game.
