Alex Antetokounmpo, the younger brother of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, is parting ways with his Greek team, Aris. After receiving very little playing time, he is expected to return to the United States to join the NBA G League. This move suggests he is still focused on developing his skills in a system closely connected to the NBA, where he has played before.
🏀 A Return to the G League
Alex Antetokounmpo’s time with the Greek club Aris is coming to an end. The 24-year-old forward is reportedly heading back to the NBA G League, the official development league of the NBA. This decision follows a recent period where he saw limited action on the court, playing only two minutes in a recent Greek league game. A return to the G League could provide him with more opportunities to grow and showcase his talent.
✈️ A Journey Through Europe and the US
This marks another chapter in Antetokounmpo’s developing career. Before joining Aris in August, he played for several clubs across Europe, including teams in Lithuania and Montenegro. He also has significant experience in the G League, having played for the Raptors 905 (the Toronto Raptors’ affiliate) and the Wisconsin Herd (the Milwaukee Bucks’ affiliate), where his brother Giannis plays.
🔄 Aris Moves Forward
As Antetokounmpo prepares for his departure, Aris is already looking to the future. The team recently started its season with a win in the BKT EuroCup but a loss in its domestic league. To strengthen their roster, they are giving center Nikos Okekuoyen a tryout during team practices, hoping he can earn a spot on the team.
