In an exciting week of the Basketball Champions League, AEK’s forward/center Chris Silva delivered an outstanding performance, leading his team to a convincing win over NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz. The 29-year-old was a force on the court, contributing on both offense and defense in just his second game in the competition.
🏆 A Well-Deserved Honour
Chris Silva was named the Player of the Week for Week 2 following a fan vote. He earned the award with an impressive stat line: 19 points on very efficient shooting, along with six rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and two assists in 28 minutes of play. Other talented players nominated for the award included Jaime Fernandez, Fabian White Jr., Rickey McGill, and DJ Horne.
📈 AEK’s Strong Start
With this important victory, AEK improved its record to a perfect 2-0, taking the top spot in Group F. The team, led by coach Dragan Sakota, is building great momentum early in the season. Their next challenge will be an away game against Levice on October 28, where they will look to continue their winning ways.
🤩 More Action from Week 2
Beyond Silva’s excellent game, the week was filled with memorable moments. A powerful dunk by Mady Sissoko of Trieste was named the top play in the “Top 10 Plays of the Week.” As the tournament continues, fans can look forward to more action next week when teams from Groups A, C, E, and H return to the court. The top team from each group will advance directly to the Round of 16, while the second and third-place teams will enter a play-in series for the remaining spots.
