BCL Teams Announce Key Roster and Coaching Moves

As the new Basketball Champions League (BCL) season approaches, several teams are making important changes to strengthen their lineups. Hapoel Holon has signed a new forward to cover for injuries, UCAM Murcia has secured its head coach for the long term, and Trepca has also added a new player to its roster. These moves show that teams are getting serious about their preparations for the upcoming competition.

These pre-season adjustments are crucial for setting the tone for the year. For Hapoel Holon, adding an experienced player helps manage unexpected injuries. For UCAM Murcia, keeping a successful coach ensures stability and continues their winning strategy. Meanwhile, teams like Trepca are fine-tuning their squads to compete in the qualification rounds.

✍️ Hapoel Holon Adds Veteran Forward Todd Withers

To help with some injuries before the season starts, Hapoel Holon has signed American forward Todd Withers. The team needed more players, especially with Hassan Martin expected to be out for about a month. The 29-year-old Withers is no stranger to the BCL, having played in the league before with other European teams. Head coach Danny Franco said, “We will work together to quickly integrate him… I have no doubt that he will be able to demonstrate his abilities.”

🤝 UCAM Murcia Extends Contract with Coach Sito Alonso

UCAM Murcia announced that they have extended the contract of their head coach, Sito Alonso, until the end of the 2027-28 season. Alonso, who is 49, has been with the team since 2019 and has led them to great success, including a third-place finish in last season’s BCL competition. This new deal shows the club’s confidence in his leadership as they prepare for the season’s qualification rounds.

➕ Trepca and Other Teams Prepare for Qualifiers

Other teams are also getting ready for the new season. Trepca has signed 28-year-old guard Adnan Arslanagic to strengthen its team for the upcoming BCL Qualifiers. The qualification tournaments are set to begin soon, with the Regular Season kicking off on October 7. Fans can look forward to an exciting start to the tenth season of the Basketball Champions League.
