He played college basketball at various institutions, notably earning the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year award in 2019 while at Texas Tech. Professionally, Arms has competed in the NBA G League with the Grand Rapids Gold and Memphis Hustle, and internationally with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China. Last season in the CBA, he averaged 10.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals across 10 games. This past summer, Arms impressed during his four appearances for the Rockets in the NBA Summer League, where he posted averages of 15.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2 steals, and 1.3 blocks.
